Yama No Takohei can be found within the hot spring resort of Hotaka Onsenkyo, which is located in Azumino City, an area that spreads out at the feet of the Northern Japan Alps in the center of Nagano Prefecture.
The waters supplying the baths are drawn from the feet of the Northern Japan Alps, and offer bathing in 100% natural hot spring water without artificial heating.
The hot spring waters at Yama No Takohei are weakly alkaline with high sulphur content.
They provide benefits to detoxification, as well as expanding the capillaries, reducing blood pressure, and easing inflammation. The waters are especially good for sufferers of neuralgia, rheumatism, diabetes, and gastrointestinal issues. They additionally impart a beautifying effect for the skin.
Yama No Takohei boasts a spacious indoor bath, the size of which makes guests instinctively feel like swimming.
But, for reasons of etiquette, please refrain from swimming in the baths.
In the pleasant open-air bath, you can enjoy the scenery of the Northern Japan Alps through the changing of the four seasons.
Feeling the nature around you in summer, or viewing the snow covered landscape in winter, outdoor bathing is a pleasure throughout the year.
The natural hot spring baths are available for day trip visitors.
Enjoy a bath when visiting the area on a day trip, or in winter, when returning from a ski or snowboarding excursion.
